Connect an AI client
Domain Chief now offers an MCP server for compatible AI clients. Connect at
https://domain.chief.app/mcp, sign in with your Chief account, and approve the scopes needed to inspect domains, contacts, and TLDs or manage hosted DNS, redirects, and domain settings. -
Receive a weekly server report
The weekly email summarizes the previous week's requests, blocks, and rate limits for each server, alongside its current status and whether an update is available. It also highlights the busiest server and links back to the Servers page.
-
Register or transfer eligible premium domains online
You can now complete registration or incoming transfer for lower-priced premium domains in Domain Chief. For teams without broader premium access, both the operation price and renewal price must be below €25; higher-priced names still require assistance.
-
Limit API tokens to specific Tny permissions
Choose only the Tny permissions an access token needs. Separate scopes cover reading links and domains, managing links, and using URL utilities, so an integration can have access to the tasks it performs.
-
Register OAuth clients dynamically
OAuth integrations can now register a client through the registration endpoint advertised in Account Chief’s OAuth metadata. Submit the client name, redirect URIs, grant and response types, scopes, and token authentication method to receive a client ID and, when applicable, a client secret.
-
Select DNS record types directly in the lookup field
In DNS lookup, prefix a domain with one or more record types to choose what to query without selecting the type buttons first. For example,
MX,TXT:example.comlooks up both MX and TXT records. -
Switch between DNS, PTR, WHOIS, and RDAP without re-entering your query
The DNS, PTR, WHOIS, and RDAP lookup pages now have tabs that carry your current query to another applicable lookup. Enter a domain, IP address, or ASN, then switch tools to inspect it from another angle. Tabs for unsupported query types are unavailable.
-
Look up domains, IP addresses, and ASNs with RDAP
Use RDAP lookup to inspect registration and network information for a domain, IPv4 or IPv6 address, or ASN. View a readable summary or switch to the raw JSON response.
-
Upgrade eligible proxies in one run
From Servers, choose Upgrade all eligible servers to update several proxies without opening each one. FlowGuard upgrades them one at a time, shows which server is in progress, and stops on the first error so you can investigate before continuing.
-
Get email when a server goes offline or recovers
FlowGuard can email team members after a server has stopped reporting for 15 minutes, then send another message when it comes back online. The alert links to the affected server so you can investigate its status.
-
Find invoices awaiting payment from the dashboard
The Dashboard now shows a notice when your team has invoices awaiting payment. Select View invoices to open them and settle outstanding charges.
-
See reverse DNS hostnames for scanned IPs
Hover over an IP address on a monitored domain or in a TLS/SSL Server Test to see its reverse DNS hostname when one is available. The
hostnamefield is also available for domain IP addresses and TLS scan results through the GraphQL API. -
Upgrade proxies from the Servers page
The Servers page now shows when a proxy has an update available. Open its update dialog to compare the installed and latest versions, enable upgrades for that server if needed, and start the upgrade from the panel. The dialog shows progress while the proxy applies the new version.
-
Spot invoices that need payment from the teams list
The teams list now shows an Unpaid invoices count beside a team when an invoice needs action. Select the count to open that team’s invoices. Invoices with a payment already processing are excluded from the alert.
-
Create team API access tokens
Team owners can now create and revoke team API access tokens from the Team API access tokens section of a team’s page. These tokens authenticate API requests as the team, so shared integrations and scheduled jobs do not depend on one person’s account.
-
Choose fine-grained Domain Chief token permissions
When creating a personal API token for Domain Chief, you can now choose fine-grained permissions instead of full access. Select only the resources and actions an integration needs, such as reading DNS records. OAuth authorization requests also show the specific Domain Chief permissions being requested.
-
Import more DNS zone file formats
The DNS zone file importer now detects whether hostnames use fully qualified names with trailing dots or flat names without them, so you can upload exports in either format without rewriting their hostname values. Zone files containing
ALIASrecords are supported too. -
Start .uk push transfers through the API
Integrations can initiate an outgoing IPS-tag transfer for an eligible
.ukfamily domain withPOST /api/v1/domains/{domainNameOrId}/transfer/push. Send the receiving registrar's tag asrecipient; the API accepts the request for asynchronous processing and returns the updated domain. -
Transfer .uk domains using IPS tags
For eligible
.ukfamily domains, open Push Transfer on the domain page, unlock the domain if prompted, and enter the receiving registrar's IPS tag. Domain Chief shows when a newly registered domain is still in its 30-day transfer lock and tracks the pending request. -
Filter and sort domain search results
Domain search now lets you hide unavailable names and sort results by popularity, price, or alphabetically. Use the Hide unavailable switch and Sort menu when comparing names to register.
